Official brand transition record

LectMate → LectBuddy

LectMate is becoming LectBuddy. This is a new name and a new canonical domain for the same lecture intelligence service—not a new product, account system, or learning workflow.

What this announcement means

The name is changing. The study experience continues.

LectBuddy is the new name for LectMate. Both names refer to the same lecture intelligence product and the same connected workflow: capture a live class or recording, follow transcription and translation, keep the source context, and return to searchable bilingual notes, summaries, replay, and export. The change gives that existing experience one current identity at lectbuddy.com.

If you already used LectMate, you are not moving to a separate service. Your existing account continues without interruption, your credits remain connected to that account, and your lecture sessions remain part of the same workspace. Sign in as usual and continue from the current workspace; there is no second account to create for this brand migration.

If you are discovering the product for the first time, use LectBuddy as the current name and lectbuddy.com as the canonical website. References to LectMate in an older article, saved link, browser history, or shared document may still appear during the transition. They describe the earlier name of the same service.

During the overlap, the LectMate name may remain visible in older browser-extension screens, downloaded files, bookmarked routes, or third-party listings. Those references do not indicate a separate LectMate service. They point back to LectBuddy and the same account-backed workspace. When a saved LectMate path has a matching LectBuddy destination, use the LectBuddy page for the most current product details, policies, support links, and future updates.

Continuity, clearly stated

What stays the same.

The LectMate to LectBuddy migration changes how the service is named and where its canonical pages live. It does not divide the product or reset user progress.

01

One lecture intelligence product

LectBuddy continues the LectMate workflow for live transcription, real-time translation, recorded-audio processing, speaker-aware transcripts, summaries, bilingual notes, search, replay, and export. The brand changes; the connected learning workflow remains the same.

02

The same account and credits

An existing LectMate account is your LectBuddy account. Account access and available credits continue because the renamed product is the same service. Use your existing sign-in details rather than registering again.

03

Session continuity

Lecture sessions created under LectMate continue in the LectBuddy workspace. The migration does not ask you to rebuild session history or move learning material between separate products; this is continuity inside the same service.

A staged domain transition

How lectmate.com moves to lectbuddy.com.

lectbuddy.com is now the canonical new domain. The old lectmate.com domain remains temporarily available while the transition is staged and search, link, and user signals settle around the new identity.

  1. Now

Use the current brand and domain.

New references should use the LectBuddy name and link to the corresponding canonical page on lectbuddy.com. Existing LectMate mentions can remain understandable as historical references during this period.

  2. During transition

Both domains may still be encountered.

lectmate.com remains temporarily available so saved links and earlier references do not disappear at once. lectbuddy.com is the preferred destination for current product information and workspace access.

  3. After signals stabilize

    Redirects will preserve page intent.

Eventual redirects will be introduced page by page only after transition signals stabilize. A specific LectMate page should lead to its corresponding LectBuddy page, preserving context instead of sending every old URL to a generic destination.

What to do now

A short guide for students and publishers.

Most people only need to remember the new name and domain. These steps keep personal access and public references aligned during the transition.

Questions about the migration

The change, in plain language.

Are LectMate and LectBuddy different products?

No. LectBuddy is the current name for the same lecture intelligence product previously called LectMate. The core workflow, account access, credits, and sessions continue within the same service.

Do I need a new account?

No. Your LectMate account continues as your LectBuddy account. Use the existing account to enter the workspace; creating a duplicate account is not part of the brand migration.

What happens to my LectMate credits and sessions?

They continue with your account. The renamed product does not introduce a separate account system, so available credits and lecture session continuity remain attached to the same service.

Why can I still reach lectmate.com?

The old domain remains temporarily available during the staged transition. lectbuddy.com is canonical now; page-to-page redirects will follow only after search, link, and user signals stabilize.

The next lecture

Continue where you left off.

LectMate has a new name, but your study path is still yours. Open LectBuddy with the account you already use, return to your lecture sessions, and keep the same capture-to-review workflow moving.
