How LectBuddy handles recordings, transcripts, and website data
07/13/2026
Overview
LectBuddy is a lecture intelligence SaaS for students and education teams. It helps turn lectures, meetings, calls, and conversations into transcripts, translations, and bilingual notes. This page summarizes the privacy posture for the LectBuddy website and planned SaaS product.
Website Data
The LectBuddy website is a marketing and product information site. It may process basic website usage data such as pages visited, browser type, approximate location, device information, referral source, and diagnostics needed to keep the site reliable.
Recordings, Transcripts, and Browser Audio
LectBuddy can process audio that you choose to provide through the workspace or the 同声传译 Chrome extension. The extension only captures the one browser tab you explicitly start; it does not read webpage text, capture other tabs, or capture native desktop apps. The selected-tab audio may be sent to LectBuddy and its AI processing providers to create real-time transcripts and translated captions.
The original audio, transcript, translation, summaries, and notes are stored with your LectBuddy session until you delete that session. You can also revoke a connected extension from Settings → Security, which prevents it from starting new captures but does not delete prior sessions. Do not use the feature to record or process audio unless you have the necessary permission.
Service Providers
LectBuddy uses cloud infrastructure, storage, payment, analytics, support, and AI service providers to operate the service. Those providers process data only as needed to provide their services and are governed by their own policies.
